Iskra Medical

As a company that provides service and products for semi-professional usage, working with Iskra Medical turned out to be a truly interesting challenge and a great choice for the Industrial Product Design Education and Training Model, developed by GDS in conjunction with JAPTI. The implementation of the model also proved to be an excellent opportunity for cooperation between the two companies.
Jože Jelenc, head of Iskra Medical: "Being a company that develops, produces and sells products that require a high-level of technical perfection and innovation, we are very much aware of the importance of industrial design, and that is why we applied for the program. We were in the process of developing one our most successful products, a casing model line for a medical machine unit called Prestige, and through the model and cooperation with GDS we were able to develop the upgraded version Prestige+. A very specific kind of knowledge is crucial for industrial design implementation, and we knew that the GDS team of top experts could provide that. Our expectations have been more than fulfilled."
Monitoring the company and giving all the needed support and advice throughout this process has led to many important benefits; it has helped to show how flexible and customizable this model can really be, as well as how much it could still be improved. The process also had a surprisingly beneficial effect on Iskra Medical's internal communication as well as the entire organizational culture. Iskra Medical and GDS's cooperation created a synergy that perpetuated further cooperation of industrial design implementation unto the development of new products.
