New concept for Small Household Appliances Gorenje








Small Household Appliances are being exposed on the sales sledges in their original pacakges nowadays. It helps to make the purchase easier for the buyer while it also facilitates producer's communication with customers through the packaging. Packaging of Small Household Appliances is no longer there just for product's protection - it's a strong communicator.

The situation on sales sledges and the manners of purchasing for small household appliances were constantly on the minds of GDS designers while creating the new packaging for Gorenje's Small Household Appliances. As a result the whole making process led to the production of a complete package system for small household appliances and accessories.

The main advantage of the packaging is a clear, concise and effective presentation of the appliance and its key features. The information is divided into verbal/text-based and non-verbal/visual information. The major part of attention was devoted to verbal information, namely the construction of its hierarchy, the positioning of company logo, the width of description of the appliance and other, less crucial but still mandatory data.

The most visible element of the new concept of packaging is a very thought-out concept of the product photograpy. It enables a homogeneous display of miscellaneous products on one side, while the key functions of the appliances on the other enable an attractive, understandable and customer-firendly key functions demonstration. The black color of the packaging distincts Gorenje's Small House Appliances from overflow of all the white packages by other producers and holds them even more above standard.
